Description

It encompasses design of drugs, their manufacture and the elimination of micro-organisms from the products.

In brief, it is concerned with the scientific and technological aspects of the design and manufacture of dosage forms or medicines. G. Taylor, BPharm PhD FRPharmS, Professor of Clinical Pharmaceutics, UCL School of Pharmacy, London, UK and Michael E. I have tried all these books, even 2007 version of it, I hated Aulton 2007 but this book is amazing! The philosophy of this sixth edition is unchanged from earlier editions; the book comprehensively covers all aspects of pharmaceutics and is intentionally structured and written for newcomers to the formulation and manufacture of medicines, particularly pharmacy undergraduates. G. Taylor, BPharm PhD FRPharmS, Professor of Clinical Pharmaceutics, UCL School of Pharmacy, London, UK and Michael E.

Contributors to this new edition include many current and former School of Pharmacy people including: Susan Barker, Abdul Basit, Steve Brocchini, Graham Buckton, Soraya Dhillon, Hala Fadda, Christina Freire, Simon Gaisford, Francesca Gavins, Neil Hartman, Majella Lane, Christine Madla, Emma McConnell, Sudax Murdan, Mine Orlu, Somavarapu Satyanarayana, Andreas Schatzlein, Khalid Sheikh, Catherine Tuleu, Ijeoma Uchegbu and Gareth Williams. Professor Aulton's Pharmaceutics has become established as the clearest, most comprehensive textbook on this subject. The table of contents at the beginning of the each chapter is really good, the diagrams have been renewed. Kevin Taylor, Professor of Clinical Pharmaceutics, has co-edited the recently published new edition of Aulton’s Pharmaceutics, the preeminent pharmaceutics textbook for pharmacy students. I bought this book for my class in Pharmaceutical Technology and with a strong background in Physical Chemistry I found this book very good for the transition from Physical Chemistry to Physical Pharmacy.

Since the fourth edition, Kevin has worked with Mike as a co-editor, helping to extend the scope and content of the text. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. The language of the book has also changed and the explanations were further simplified so that we actually understand the concept even better! The content has been extensively revised and updated, and many new subjects introduced, because pharmaceutics continually changes, particularly in the ways that drug products are designed, manufactured and delivered to patients. An understanding of pharmaceutics is therefore vital for all pharmacists and those pharmaceutical scientists who are involved with converting a drug or a potential drug into a medicine that can be delivered safely, effectively and conveniently to the patient. The book provides pharmacy and pharmaceutical science students with the latest information on all aspects of pharmaceutics. One of the world’s best-known texts on pharmaceutics, Aulton's Pharmaceutics offers a complete course in one book for students in all years of undergraduate pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences degrees.
