Nick Sharratt has written and illustrated many books for children including Shark in the Park , You Choose and Pants . This book sends a message to us all telling us how lucky some of us are to have a happy family life. good book jacky i liked lucky i think she really is lucky i am loving these books for my project i done a Jacqueline Wilson one with Queenie and Elsie on great book jacky!

Its a lovely nightime read, and athough it wasn’t my favourite Jacqueline Wilson book Floss carried on dreaming in my head for many more nights!

In 2007 Jacky Daydream was published, an inspirational true story of how a shy schoolgirl became a superstar author. I only got 4 books by Jacqueline Wilson but I totally loved them, I have : My Sister Jodie, Midnight, Cookie and Candyfloss. Floss wants to go with them, but she doesn't want to leave Charlie who's a cheerful and fun dad, who runs his own café which is quickly going out of business. Floss is able to spend every weekend with her father but has to live with her mother and her new husband for the rest of each week. Now, believe me, even though I know that her mother didn't walk out on her, it was totally not considerate of her to go and marry Steve, without thinking of Floss.

She lives with her mother, stepdad, and baby half-brother, Tiger, and visits her dad who owns a greasy-spoon cafe on the weekends. My one gripe (which doesn't affect my rating) is that my copy of this was published in America, and they have changed MUM to MOM. He is only mentioned once in the book, when he drops Susan round at Charlie's house for a playdate with Floss. Later, Susan goes to stay in her house in France and says farewell to Floss at the beginning of summer.

She seemed to intelligent that it took me a while to figure out she probably was only in 2nd or at most 2rd grade. She announces to Floss on her birthday that the whole family is moving to Australia for Steve's new job and is heartbroken when Floss remains with Charlie. When he encounters Rose, a fortune-teller and cotton-candy maker with a traveling carnival, he's met his true match. i love this book, i love the way she is so kind and gives her brother ‘tiger’ hr birthday kangroos, i HATE that her mum goes and leaves her with her dad but i love that she stays with her dad and i think her dad and rose will get married and I LOVE thatshe gets her hair pink at the end! Jacqueline's books include The Story of Tracy Beaker, which has become a hugely successful BBC TV series; Girls in Love, which together with its two sequels was filmed for ITV television; and Double Act, which she adapted for Channel 4 and which won the Royal TV Society's Best Children's Fiction Award.

Jacqueline Wilson wrote her first novel when she was nine years old, and she has been writing ever since. He was so bloodily self-unaware up until maybe 84% of the book and why was he always coming to his 11-year old daughter for assurance. I LOVED IT IT WAS AMAZING THE BEGGING I NEARLY CRIED IT WAS SAD HER PARENTS BREAK UP AND IT MUST BE HARD TO DECIDE WHEARE TO GO SHE WANTED TO GO WITH HER MUM TO AUSTRALIA WITH HER MUM OR STAY WITH HER DAD IN THE CAFE I GOT IT FROM THE LIBARY.Girls keeping their families going, girls trying to get away… Jacqueline Wilson’s written about them all! Let me just preface this review by saying that at the ripe age of 74, Jacqueline Wilson came out as gay. k.a floss/flossie, whose mum moves to oz for 6 months with a new partener while floss stays with her dad in the cafe, charlies cafe. Floss's school uniforms get dirtier and disarrayed as Charlie is not used to washing and ironing them, but her teacher, Mrs.

I know her audience is supposed to younger but I'm still loving these books and I can't wait to read the rest I have on mount tbr. After losing the cafe and the flat, Billy the chip mentions he is to Australia to visit his son for one month and needs Floss and her father to live in his house while Charlie works in his chip van. Starring another of Jacqueline Wilson’s winsome and spirited heroines, this moving story of family ties is set against a whirlwind background of fairgrounds and street cafes. Rose – The woman who runs the candyfloss stall at the funfair that Floss and Charlie go to at the start. I also felt sorry for her dad as everything seemed to have gone wrong for him, though seemed to be picking up towards the end.He has won numerous awards for his picture books, including the Sheffield Children's Book Award and the 2001 Children's Book Award.
