About 45% of the production comes from the Bardolino Classico region, but unlike its neighboring Veneto DOCs - Soave and Valpolicella - any terroir driven quality difference seems to be minimal between the wine produced in the classico region and that from the greater DOC zone. Average altitude and composition: The hills are located at 100/150 meters above sea level, of morainic origin with calcareous, clayey, gravelly, sandy soil. The Bardolino DOC can also be found in its “Novello” version; like all young wines, it is produced through carbonic maceration (at least 85%) and it is bottled within the 31th of December of the year. The grapes for this Bardolino are sourced from vineyards located in the Eastern Morainic Hills of Lake Garda. This brand's origin dates back to 1772, when the Boscaini family purchased a few acres of vineyards in the Vaio dei Massi Valley. This particular feature allows to develop grapes and vineyards with particular characteristics that are reflected in the quality of the products of the land and so in the wine too. The “Bardolino Chiaretto DOC”, whose name refers to the rose-coloured shade, comes from the same grapes as the Bardolino, but peels go through a “pinkish vinification” process; being partially in contact with them, the must softly changes its colour.According to the wine guide 'Gambero Rosso', the best Bardolino wine of 2014 came from the Le Vigne di San Pietro winery in Sommacampagna, on the southeast edge of the DOC and was awarded a rating of 'three glasses'. The 'power' variation of the quaffable Bardolino classic is the Bardolino superior with its DOCG seal. Later in the fifth century viticulture had a significant development and with the Republic of Venice it played a key role in the economy of the region. Today the Bardolino is renowned and appreciated all over the world; most of the bottles are indeed exported abroad, particularly to Germany, United Kingdom, Austria, France, Denmark, Switzerland, USA, Canada and Japan. Soils are of fluvial-glacial origin and the vines are planted at a density of 3,000 per hectare, using the pergola trellising system.

After harvesting the grapes are destemmed, macerated on skins and fermented in stainless steel tanks.

This refreshing, crunchy, cherry and raspberry-scented red is great lightly chilled – imagine you’re sipping it on Lake Garda. It has to be drunk within a few months, since it does not keep long due to its organoleptic features. Sometimes known as Corvina Veronese, it is blended with Rondinella and Molinara to produce Valpolicella and.In the last five years, the expert winemaking team at Masi, has followed this technique to create 5 Amarones and 3 Reciotos to date. This is why Le Nogare is such a fresh young wine, just like the breezes blowing over the lake, with a strikingly bright ruby red colour, and scents of stewed cherries and spice. On the nose it is intense and perfumed, with floral notes predominating, among which those of violets stand out.
