The most powerful binocular in its class, ideal for closer views of terrestrial long distance objects or the Lunar landscape in the night sky.

In the 1960s, Celestron’s founder, Tom Johnson, created groundbreaking new telescopes never before seen on the consumer market. Again with such a comparatively far minimum focusing distance and a much narrower field of view, it was not really possible for me to compare and therefore judge the depth of view between these and my 8x42's. And boy was it easy to see, even at around 9pm in my light polluted back garden, with a nasty LED streetlamp glaring away at me just 25 feet or so away, I could make out the great M13 with no problem nice and large. I would also like to say a quick thanks to Hama (UK) Ltd, the UK distributor of Celestron binoculars for sending me these to test and review. The great thing is that they can of course also be mounted to a tripod, so when you have a fixed or slow moving target, like the moon, a distant ship or are an area far off in the distance the added stability of a tripod means that you can get the best result possible.

This award-winning optical system reduces visual defects like field curvature and coma, creating an ultra-flat field for pinpoint stars all the way to the edge of today’s largest imaging sensors. UPGRADED BINOCULARS – Our premium binoculars feature a high magnification 20x zoom eyepiece and a 168 yard field of view at 1000 yards, allowing you to see and focus on the huge detail of your target from 1000 yards away. I would say though that their depth of field seemed good enough, with it never being an issue for me.

We are using the very latest Zygo MX software to provide a more detailed report compared to other standard reports. Celestron SkyMaster 25×70 binoculars offer astronomy enthusiasts an exceptional viewing experience with their extraordinary magnification power and premium optics. At 25x, slight miscollimation that might go unnoticed with a pair of 15x or 12x binoculars can ruin the view. A central knob is used for focusing as with most smaller binoculars, and the SkyMaster 25x70s’ right eyepiece has a diopter adjustment ranging from -4 to +8 to compensate for vision differences between your left and right eye. As expected, these lenses produce a significant amount of chromatic aberration; however, at 25x magnification, it’s not highly noticeable on most celestial objects.

When we test your telescope, we will ensure that it is of the highest quality otherwise, we will reject the scope under our strict quality control and test another model for your peace of mind. The 13mm of eye-relief is ok, but not great, for a binocular to have a long eye-relief, I usually suggest a distance of at least 16mm.

It’s ideal binoculars for adults bird watching, hunting, camping, climbing, hiking, safari, travel, opera, concert, sports events, and stargazing.

Within the interferometer is a calibrated laser that is pointed through the optical test surface, then onto a high quality reference sphere, then back through the test subject then to an internal camera which gives us the measurement on the screen. I've always thought that a pair at x25 with 70-80mm are perfect for picking up fuzzies and let's not forget all of those great clusters. The Zhumell 12x70s are more forgiving of collimation issues and require a less stable mount compared to higher-power binoculars of this aperture, with handheld use being at least in the realm of possibility. Celestron has designed and engineered the larger Sky models to meet the special demands of extended astronomical or terrestrial viewing sessions.
